Kindle Publishing: Do I Market My Books On Twitter?

You may remember that recently I wrote a post about if I post to Facebook Groups and my thoughts on whether that is a productive use of your time.  I’ve also been asked about Twitter marketing and if it can help you sell more books.

The idea is when you have a 5-day free promo you ‘tweet’ to lots of free books twitter accounts (there are over 100) and tell them you have a free book in the hopes they will give you a retweet to help boost downloads during the free promo period. Every week I would do this for my free books, every week for six months. You know what I got in that time? One single retweet. One retweet, in six months!

Twitter promotion is the single biggest waste of time in Kindle Publishing. It makes posting to Facebook Groups seem beneficial and useful in comparison. I’m going to keep this post short and sweet and simply say if you want your book to get more sales devote more time to choosing profitable niches and keywords and leave the twitter marketing to other people.

Thanks for reading. If you have any questions (you shouldn’t from this post) please leave them in the comments below. Cheers!
