Income Report – October 2016

This is a series of reports that I will post each and every month summarising my progress. I’ll first mention the major events that may have happened within the month that could have made a difference in my earnings. I will also break down the sources of my income so that I can keep track of how each one is doing. Lastly, I’ll conclude with the most important things that I learned and what I have planned for the near future. I’d love to respond to any questions or comments that you may have. Thanks!

Important Goings On In October

Writer Issue Sorted Out (Finally)

I’ve finally sorted my issue with writers and so far things seem to be back where they were in June. Fingers crossed it stays like this for the rest of the year.

Free Promos

I spent most of this month and the end of last month putting my books on 5-day free promos but as you can see from my screenshots below I had a pretty good month overall 🙂

ACX

ACX had a big jump this month I sold 100 audiobooks. That is really good considering I only started ACX 2 months ago and only had 5 books (until this week when my 6th was published).

How Do I Make My Money Online?

The majority of the money I make online comes from Kindle Publishing. Some income also comes from Createspace, ACX and a small amount comes from selling print on demand T-shirts on sites like Merch By Amazon, Redbubble and Teespring. Plus some small affiliate earnings.

Kindle Publishing

This is my total from Kindle taken from the Book Report dashboard plugin for Kindle. It adds everything up into one nice figure.

Total from Kindle Publishing – $1,255.41  (£1025.35)

Createspace

Total from Createspace – $1091.29 (£890.81)

Note: I take this screenshot before the end of the day so I will get a few more sales as I get most during the night then get reported here. I don’t want to stay up until 5AM to take a screenshot.

ACX

Sold 100 books

Total from ACX – $280 (£228.67)

Merch By Amazon (Redbubble, Teespring, etc)

Total from RedBubble – $ (£169.21).

Total from Teepublic – $56 (£45.72).

Total from Teespring – $15 (£12.25).

Note: I’ve only just started selling t-shirts I’ve not even been given access to Merch By Amazon yet. All my sales have come from Redbubble, Teepublic and Teespring.

Misc Income

Nothing at all. I’ve been doing some affiliate marketing so hopefully I start to make some income from that soon to add to this section.

Total for October 2016

$2905.57 (£2,372.01)

What’s Next?

I had a bet with a friend that if I didn’t get to £2500 per month by October 31st, 2016 I would give him £100. It’s the 1st of November and as you can see above I did not quite get there. I was £130 off my target. But I’m not actually bothered because this was my best month online so far. I’m really pleased with how my income has jumped back up again and surpassed my previous best month (June).

I want to be at £3,000+ a month by December 31st this year. If I can grow my income by £300+ per month I can achieve this. Plus sales alway go up in December on Kindle + Amazon.

Thanks for reading!
